Today's card is the Swan!
From the Author: In Celtic legends, Swan represents the evolution of spirit that comes from within. In Greek mythology, gods and goddesses take the form of Swans. Swan glides across water smoothly and quietly, hardly making a ripple on the water. When Swan appears, you are being invited to enjoy the natural beauty of the world around you.
Nicole's Interpretation As you often hear, nothing happens by accident, although you may not know at the time what the meaning of it all actually is! I chose this card from the deck, and at first thought it had something to do with self-esteem and thinking you're an ugly duckling because you weren't like the others. I was surprised to have an experience later in the day that brought me the real meaning for this card. A friend of mine came to see me for a massage, and during our session she really didn't seem to be herself. She mentioned some recent turmoil and told me she felt very stressed by all of it. I could see that she was sort of behind a wall, in an effort to hold herself together. As she was leaving, I stopped and turned to her and said,"You're not yourself today- and I want you to be yourself! I like 'you!'" I was speaking of the inner light that has always shone through in her smile and her words. In that moment, I truly understood the meaning of the card- and not by coincidence, a mental picture of this card flashed in my mind. The light inside a person's eyes is where their true beauty lies. It is the beauty of the soul- the 'you' that hides behind all of the masks we wear so we can blend in and be accepted. The truth is, when you continually push aside that spark of light within you, in favor of what is popular at the time, you extinguish that light. You may be the picture of perfectness on the outside, but without that light, you do not shine. If you've been feeling the need to let your light shine, this may be YOUR SIGN to begin the process of opening up and showing the world who you really are. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ "Swan."
