beautiful words escape me
as I attempt to write this poem
 
beautiful words elate me
when I read a fanciful tale
 
beautiful words berate me
when I fall into anger or fear
 
beautiful words ignite me
when heard united in love
 
beautiful words betray me
when used in falsehood or chance
 
beautiful words seduce me
when listening to songs of romance
 
beautiful words elude me
when trying to describe The One
 
beautiful words engage me
and make me sing out loud
 
beautiful words enchant me
when I look into the eyes of a child
 
beautiful words entice me
to attempt to use beautiful words
